The Short Version
We fix garage doors and openers. Springs, cables, rollers, tracks, panels, hinges, and the openers that drive all of it. No sales pitch about what else we could sell you while we're there.
Albuquerque's winters aren't brutal compared to a lot of the country, but the cold band we sit in still stiffens grease, shrinks metal, and makes a marginal spring finally let go on a January morning. That's a big share of our winter calls - not storm damage, just a part that was already worn giving out when the temperature drops.
A large part of the local housing - across the 13 or so named areas we work in most - dates to the 1960s and 70s, which means original hardware that's been repainted, patched, or partially replaced over the decades. We see a lot of mismatched parts on the same door: a newer opener bolted to an original track, or a replacement panel that doesn't quite match the rest. Sorting that out before quoting a fix is part of the job, not an upsell.
We don't claim to be the fastest or the biggest. We show up, look at the actual door in front of us, and tell you honestly whether it's a repair or whether the door's old enough that replacement makes more sense.
What We Do Not Take On
We don't do gate operators, and we don't do commercial rolling steel doors - different hardware, different failure points, not our focus. If your problem is one of those, say so up front and save yourself the wasted appointment.
We also won't tell you a 1970s-era door with a rusted-through torsion spring and a cracked panel just needs "a quick fix." At some point, given the age of a lot of the housing stock in this area, patching a door that's outlived its hardware costs more over two or three service calls than replacing it once. We'll say that plainly instead of running the meter on repeated repairs.
Parts for some of the older, less common opener models aren't something we keep on the truck, and depending on the manufacturer, they can take time to source. If that's your situation, we'll tell you the wait instead of guessing at an install date.
We're not the outfit to call for a general handyman job that happens to involve a garage - framing, drywall, electrical rewiring beyond the opener circuit. Garage doors and openers are the whole business here, which is part of why we're not trying to be everything else too.
